How absorbed radiation dose conversion works

Absorbed dose is energy deposited per unit mass and is measured in gray. It is not equivalent dose in sievert, which also applies radiation weighting factors.

Values are converted to gray first, then from that reference into the requested unit. Keeping a single documented reference reduces inconsistent pair-by-pair constants.

Accuracy note: This converter is for absorbed dose only; it does not calculate biological equivalent dose.
