BMR Calculator

Use the Mifflin-St Jeor equation and compare activity-adjusted maintenance estimates.

Estimated BMR-kcal/day at rest
Selected activity TDEE-estimated kcal/day
Light activity-kcal/day
Very active-kcal/day

Adult screening estimate only. It does not replace an individual medical or body-composition assessment.

Method

Health estimate method

BMI uses weight divided by height squared. Energy estimates use the Mifflin-St Jeor equation with the selected activity multiplier, while circumference-based body fat uses the US Navy field formula.

These population formulas are screening and planning estimates, not diagnoses or individual prescriptions. Age, body composition, measurement technique, health, and training can materially change interpretation.

Questions

BMR Calculator FAQ

What is BMR?

Basal metabolic rate estimates energy used at rest for essential body functions under standardized conditions.

Is TDEE an exact calorie target?

No. Activity multipliers and equations are population estimates; actual energy needs vary and can be measured only more directly.
