How radioactive activity conversion works

Activity measures nuclear decays per second. It does not by itself determine absorbed dose, which depends on radiation type, energy, geometry, and exposure.

Values are converted to becquerel first, then from that reference into the requested unit. Keeping a single documented reference reduces inconsistent pair-by-pair constants.

Accuracy note: The curie is exactly 3.7 x 10^10 becquerels by definition.

Questions

Radioactive Activity FAQ

What is the reference unit for radioactive activity conversions?

ConvertWin uses becquerel (Bq) as the internal reference for this category, then converts to the selected output unit.

How accurate is this radioactive activity converter?

The curie is exactly 3.7 x 10^10 becquerels by definition.
